Program Name: Chemistry/Biochemistry

Program description: San Diego State University's Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Biochemistry addresses the entire subject domain, including analytical, organic, inorganic, physical, and biochemistry with an emphasis on laboratory study and practical application. The curriculum offers students an atypical amount of hands-on laboratory experience.  The program's students will learn a wide range of current techniques, use sophisticated instruments (NMR, HPLC, GC, MS, etc.) and gain experience through group problem-solving. Laboratories provide hours of small class instruction with experienced instructors. 
Every industry and government level has a high demand for chemists, and many SDSU chemistry graduates even start their own businesses. The San Diego State University Chemistry program is certified by the American Chemical Society (ASC) and its B. S. degree is modified with an emphasis in biochemistry.

Program description: San Diego State University's Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering provides a balance between theory and practice. The program offers courses that teach students to design and build computers and digital systems of all sizes: Large systems that predict the weather, recreate physical systems and environments; tiny computers that are inside automobiles, appliances, CD players and cellular phones; personal computers used in offices and homes everywhere. The program provides a solid foundation in the fundamentals of mathematics, science, computer hardware, computer software, and engineering design. 
The process of engineering design is emphasized throughout the curriculum by including open-ended problems with realistic design constraints. In addition to the program's fundamental courses, students may enrol in a variety of professional electives.
Computer engineering careers include opportunities in high-tech sectors such as biotechnology, mobile and telecommunications technologies, medical sciences.

Program Name: Electrical Engineering

Program description: San Diego State University's Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering provides students with the ability to work in the frontier of high technology and solve problems through the skilful application of mathematics and science. The major offers core courses in each of the major areas of electrical engineering: machines for processing and communication of information, the generation and distribution of electric power. First-year courses include calculus, physics and chemistry. During the second and third years, students will complete specific courses in the major. Upper-division classes allow students to put theory into practice.
An SDSU degree opens the doors to careers in any field that utilizes electrical devices or systems such as mobile and communications and telecommunications, biotechnology, intelligent transport systems, space applications, geographic information systems, and etc.

Program description: the objective of the program is to study computer and computational systems mostly dealing with software and database systems, numerical analysis, programming languages and theory of computing. The graduates will earn respective skills to conduct research independently and apply knowledge into practice; analyze a complex problem and apply principles of computing to identify solutions. The Computer Science program is offered as an on-campus daytime program. The required courses in computer science are offered every semester, and most of the elective ones are offered at least once a year.
