Visit of the TSU delegation to the Czech Republic, Masaryk University

A study visit to the Czech Republic, Brno, Masaryk University took place on April 4-7 within the framework of the project "Transferring V4 expertise in knowledge/technology transfer". The purpose of the visit was to present to the Armenian and Georgian research institutes’ and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) representatives the European experience in the commercialization of research aimed at meeting the needs of SMEs and creating new results. The study visit was organized by the Armenian State University of Economics. The participants of the visit were the director of ASUE’s "AMBERD" Research Center David Hakhverdyan, Deputy Head of Engineering at the "CANDLE" Institute of Synchrotron Research Institute Hamlet Isunts, the winner of the contest “Best cooperation plan/vision with RI/Academia”, SME Representative Armine Abrahamyan, Vice-Rector of Tbilisi State University Nino Okribelashvili, Head of Quality Assurance Department of Tbilisi State University Irma Grdzelidze and Professor of Tbilisi State University Rusudan Sanadze.

During the study visit, the study visit participants had meetings with the Director of the Technology Transfer Center of Masaryk University Eva Janouskovcova, representatives of the International Relations and Quality Offices, visited the Central European Institute of Technology, RECETOX – the research center at the Masaryk University Faculty of Science of Masaryk University and the South MoravianInnovation Centre.

As a result of the study visit.

- Representatives of research institutes gained knowledge on how to effectively organize the process of commercialization of knowledge/technology, got acquainted with the research and Technology transfer centers of the partner university,

- The SME representative - knowledge on why and how to cooperate with research institutes and academic institutions, which will help to have a more competitive position in the market.

It should be mentioned that the aim of the project is to commercialize scientific research, promote a culture of enterprise-research infrastructure cooperation in Armenia and Georgia, based on the successful experience of Visegrad partner countries.
