Student Project "Trainings for Program Representatives" in Collaboration with SPARQS

The first phase of the project "Trainings for Program Representatives" has successfully ended. Project is the winner of Tbilisi State University's students’ projects funding program and is held by Elene Beberashvili, a student of the educational sciences master’s program. The project is created in collaboration with SPARQS (students’ partnerships in quality Scotland) and is supported by the TSU Department of Quality Assurance. The project's aim is to raise student participation in quality assurance processes such as creating development and monitoring study programs. More than 50 students were chosen, and they attended online training held by SPARQS. During the trainings (November 2021), students received detailed information about the role of student representative, ways and importance of student involvement in QA, ways of data collection for evaluation, also discussed future plans of developing the course representative practice at TSU. The training was interactive and full of exercises, that gave students the opportunity for full involvement. For the next session students with staff would be involved in workshops where they create and monitor the programs and will have the chance to use their knowledge in practice.

 

 

Training for Student Representatives

On November 30, 2020, in the frames of the project organized by TSU Quality Assurance Service and Student Self-Government and funded by the Alumni Association of the International Education Center "Increasing Students' Capacity for Their Involvement in Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Quality Assurance" a training for student representatives was conducted. Student representatives of the program were selected on the basis of their applications, through a competition, from the students of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University. Students will be actively involved in the development of educational programs and the quality of teaching and learning, provide student feedback to program implementers as well as administrative staff, and continually strive to improve student learning experiences. The training for students was led by representatives of the Scottish organization "Sparqs" (Student partnerships in quality Scotland). The aim of the training was to increase students' competencies for involvement in the development of the teaching-learning process.

 

 

 

Increasing Students’ Capacity to Ensure their Involvement in Quality Assurance Processes at Tbilisi State University

The project -  Increasing Students’ Capacity to Ensure their Involvement in Quality Assurance Processes at Tbilisi State University, organized by TSU Quality Assurance Service and Student Students’ Self-Government and funded by the Alumni Association of the International Education Center is currently implemented at TSU.

 

The project is supported by the Scottish organization "Spraqs (Student partnerships in quality Scotland)", which helps universities to implement quality assurance processes in collaboration with students. Under the project, the Scottish organization will provide training for students and staff involved in the project and help the university implement a "program representative" practice.

 

The project is in an active phase, at a meeting on November 5, 2020, the project participants talked about the selection of "program representatives", training of students and staff (provided by the representatives of "Sparqs"). The selection of students within the project will take place at the faculty participating in the project in November, and the training will take place in December.

        

 

Involvement of Students in Quality Assurance Mechanisms: First Meeting

The project about encouraging students' participation in Quality Assurance mechanisms at Tbilisi State University is funded by the Alumni Association of International Education Centre. Project partners include TSU Quality Assurance Service, Student Union and SPARQS - Student Partnerships in Quality Scotland (2020).
