European University Association Learning and Teaching  Thematic Peer Group  "Meeting the Skills and Employability Demands"

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is a member of the thematic peer group of the European University Association (EUA) - "Meeting the skills and employability demands". The work of the thematic group started on March 23 and due to the current events in the world, it is going on completely remotely. Tbilisi State University Quality Assurance Service actively participates in the work of the thematic group, five online meetings were held and the group is currently working on developing recommendations. Tbilisi State University participates in the working group together with leading European universities.


The thematic group will exchange experience for one year and develop recommendations that will help higher education institutions to improve the quality of educational programs, teaching and learning process. In particular, the main focus of the thematic group is to identify the skills necessary for the successful employment of students/graduates in educational programs, to integrate them into the curriculum, and to collaborate with universities and industry.

 

The policies and methods of employer involvement in the development, evaluation and development of educational programs at Tbilisi State University were considered a good practice and caused special mention and interest, as well as the involvement of employers in external quality assurance processes.

European University Association Thematic Peer Group "Meeting Skills and Employability Demands" - Final Meeting

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is a member of the European University Association (EUA) thematic peer group - "Meeting the skills and employability demands" and actively participates in group meetings and work.

 

On November 3 and 4, 2020, a concluding meeting of the group was held, in which the Quality Assurance Service of Tbilisi State University participated. The group members summarized the best practices identified by the group, the results of the group work, and developed recommendations to help higher education institutions improve the quality of their educational programs, teaching, and learning process. In particular, the thematic group focuses on identifying the skills necessary for the successful employment of students/graduate students in educational programs, their integration into the curriculum, and the collaboration between universities and industry. It should be noted that one of the best practices identified by the group is the approaches of Tbilisi State University.

 

The group is currently working on a joint report, which they will present at the 2021 European University Association's Teaching and Learning Forum.
