The Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia, held an introductory meeting with the new French Ambassador to Georgia, Olivier Courtois.
During the meeting, they discussed the long-standing friendly and partnership relations between Georgia and France, as well as the successful cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education and science. They also discussed the possibilities for expanding this cooperation further.
Special attention was paid to the fruitful cooperation between Tbilisi State University and French higher education institutions. It was noted that TSU actively cooperates with approximately 20 French universities and implements joint educational and scientific programs, as well as student and academic staff exchange projects, which significantly contribute to strengthening international academic ties.
Rector Samushia introduced the ambassador to TSU’s main international activities and noted the university’s interest in deepening its cooperation with French partners. At the end of the meeting, the two agreed to further strengthen their educational and scientific cooperation and promote new joint initiatives and projects.
