As part of his working visit to the Republic of Turkey, the Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia visited Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University in Rize. The visit took place within the framework of the Erasmus + International Credit Mobility Project between Rize University and TSU and aimed at discussing the possibilities of expanding the cooperation between the two universities.
During the visit to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, the TSU delegation met with the Rector, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yilmaz, the Vice Rectors - Prof. Dr. Nebi GÜMÜŞ and Prof. Dr. Mete Avci, as well as the faculty deans, academic staff and students of the Georgian language and literature educational program. A number of issues were discussed during the meetings, namely: initiation of joint master’s and Cotutelle PhD programs in international relations and political science; development of a professional development scheme for academic staff between the Clinical Simulation Center and TSU’s Faculty of Medicine; organizing a summer school-camp for students of the Georgian language and literature program at TSU; organizing seminars for the academic staff of the Georgian language and literature program on online teaching methods and methodologies; joint games of student sports teams; joint participation in CBHE-type projects funded by the European Commission, and exchange of students from English-language programs at the two universities for the purpose of credit accumulation and transfer.
