The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia congratulated the students of the Vocational Education Center on the beginning of the new academic year. More than 400 students will study in eight vocational programs of TSU in Tbilisi and Kutaisi.

Rector Jaba Samushia emphasized the importance of vocational education for the country. He said that the employment rate of graduates of the TSU Vocational Education Center is more than 80%. “Frequently, TSU graduates deepen or learn new professions in various fields through this institution. The demand for these people in the labor market is very high.” He also noted that students will be greeted by renewed infrastructure, new student spaces at TSU; field professionals will give lectures for them. “I want you to feel that you are a full part of this university. You are students of Tbilisi State University. You should create a modern European state. We are doing our best to provide such an education to our students and to raise such a generation that will take over the future of this country,” Jaba Samushia said.

The Head of TSU Administration, Lasha Saghinadze, the Head of the Quality Assurance Service, Shota Potolashvili, the Head of the TSU Vocational Education Center, Kakhaber Cheishvili, heads of programs congratulated the students of the Vocational Education Center on the beginning of the new academic year.

Kakhaber Cheishvili, the Head of the Vocational Education Center, said that the number of students of the Vocational Education Center, as well as the number of vocational education programs is increasing every year. According to him, from next year more programs will be added, including a joint program to be created in cooperation with the Estonian Vocational Education Center.

Mariam Khmiadashvili is one of the students who will learn “event organization” in the program of the TSU Vocational Education Center. “It is a very interesting novelty in my life, although I am still an undergraduate student at Tbilisi State University, I think that this will be one of the most important additions in terms of my career and personal growth,” said Mariam Khmiadashvili.

In 2023, the TSU Vocational Education Center admitted students in Tbilisi and Kutaisi for the following programs: accounting, preschool education, customs affairs, event organization, office work, financial services, library work, truck logistics.

More than 2,000 applicants were registered for 400 places in the 2023 intake. Students of professional programs are people of different ages and professions who want to learn a new profession.

Vocational education programs have been implemented at TSU since 2007. All vocational programs operating at TSU are 100% funded by the state.
