Cooperation with University of Missouri - Kansas City

The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Missouri - Kansas City (USA).

The memorandum signed between Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the University of Missouri - Kansas City (USA) provides for cooperation in education and research. Within the framework of the cooperation, special rates of tuition and other fees as well as exceptional rules of admission of students to the University of Missouri will be applied for TSU students.

Thomas Nanney, Professor at the School of Law of the University of Missouri - Kansas City, Erekle Astakhishvili, Deputy Rector of TSU, Tamar Zarandia, Dean of the Faculty of Law of TSU, representatives of the Faculty of Law and Administration, students attended the signing ceremony.  

Rector Jaba Samushia provided the representative of the University of Missouri - Kansas City with detailed information about the TSU Law Faculty. He said that the TSU law school has a long tradition. The faculty cooperates with the world’s leading universities, has dual degree programs with various universities, and the memorandum signed with the University of Missouri - Kansas City will be another step forward in the direction of internationalization.

Professor Thomas Nanney stressed the importance of increasing the number of international students. He noted that the University of Missouri - Kansas City already had Georgian students and would like to receive more.  

The memorandum provides for the implementation of joint research and educational activities at different levels of education; planning and implementation of certificate programs; exchange of research fellows and graduates, academic and administrative staff in lectures, conferences and symposiums; also, exchange of academic and administrative staff and research fellows for educational and research purposes. On behalf of the partner university, the memorandum will be signed by Jennifer Lundgren, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor of the University of Missouri - Kansas City.
