Tbilisi State University Rector Jaba Samushia met with San Diego State University Provost and First Vice President William Tong; Vice President for Research and Innovation Hala Madanat; Dean of the School of Sciences Jeffrey Roberts; and Dean of the Global Campus Ian Gibson. Giorgi Gvedashvili, Head of the TSU Department of Scientific Research, also attended the meeting.
Rector Samushia discussed continuing and expanding cooperation with American partners in the natural and social sciences. The meeting included an assessment of joint programs already implemented at TSU, as well as teaching methods, student recruitment, and graduate employment rates.
The following programs were implemented within the framework of the cooperation between Tbilisi State University and San Diego State University: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemistry.
San Diego State University has been operating in Georgia since 2014, offering undergraduate programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This initiative was implemented in partnership with the United States Millennium Challenge Corporation as part of the Second Compact.
