TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia met with participants of the international workshop “Algebraic Geometry and Model Theory of Groups and Rings”, including Fields Medal laureate Efim Zelmanov (University of San Diego, USA; University of Science and Technology, China).
This is the fourth year that the workshop has been held at TSU, and it is attended by 45 mathematicians from the United States, Canada, Italy, Israel, China, Brazil and Georgia. Among the attendees are world-class scientists, as well as TSU professors and students.
The event presented results in algebraic geometry and model theory of groups. On the first day of the workshop, discussions were also held on the use of artificial intelligence in mathematical research.
TSU Deputy Rector Erekle Astakhishvili; Dean of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences Petre Babilua; President of the Georgian Mathematical Union, Academician Aleksandre Meskhi; Head of the TSU Mathematics Department, Professor Omar Purtukhia and other professors attended the opening.
It is planned to deepen cooperation with New York University, the Stevens Institute of Technology (USA), the University of Science and Technology of China and the University of Palermo (Italy) in developing mathematics and artificial intelligence.
