The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia, held a working meeting with Maria Theodorou, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Georgia.
The meeting focused on strengthening the cooperation between TSU and Greek higher education institutions, as well as establishing new relationships. The participants discussed the desire and opportunity to increase student, faculty and staff mobility. Special emphasis was placed on implementing joint research projects.
TSU has close partnerships with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Democritus University of Thrace, the University of Ioannina, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the University of Western Macedonia.
During the meeting, the important role of the TSU Faculty of Humanities’ Institute of Classical, Byzantine, and Modern Greek Studies in promoting educational, scientific, and friendly relations between the two countries was emphasized.
