Exhibition of TSU Artists Group Participating in Urbino Festival

An exhibition of works by TSU artists participating in the ‘Urbino In Acquerello’ festival was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU).

At the event, TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, stated that it is important for TSU students and professors to participate in large-scale international festivals and competitions. This contributes to their professional development and helps them establish international connections. He confirmed that TSU will always support these types of activities.

Since 2020, TSU representatives have participated five times in the traditional international art festival Urbino in Acquerello in Italy. The artist Lela Geleishvili, Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Humanities, represented Georgia at the event and led the creative group.

Nine students and three alumni from the Fine Arts program took part in the 2026 festival. Alongside demonstrating their work, they participated in a workshop where they created paintings on the spot.

As part of the festival, an exhibition of Lela Geleishvili's work was held at the Basilica of St. Francesco di Paola, and she gave a masterclass, demonstrating her creative process at the Collegio Raffaello.

TSU artists participate in the International Art Festival in Urbino with the financial support of the TSU Faculty of Humanities.
