TSU Basketball Team Wins Georgian Cup Again

 

The basketball team of Tbilisi State University became the winner of the Georgian Cup for the second time in a row. TSU basketball players defeated Iverioni, Gori, 92:81 in the final.

In the final game, Kakha Jincharadze scored the most points - 31. At the same time, he was named the best player of the Georgian Cup tournament.

TSU basketball players were cheered by TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, representatives of TSU administration, academics and students. “This is a great victory for university basketball, as the TSU team is the winner of the Georgian Cup for the second year in a row. I congratulate every student, professor, and basketball player on this victory. This is a great success,” said Jaba Samushia.

According to Lekso Lapanashvili, the head coach of the TSU basketball team, after the emotions subside, the TSU basketball players will start preparing for the national championship to achieve success in this arena as well. “As for the cup - we were the current holders of this title and it was very important to keep it.”

Last season, TSU basketball players won the two highest titles - the Georgian Cup and the Super League and participated in the qualifying stage of the FIBA ​​European Tournament.
