TSU - Leader in Establishing First MA, PhD Programs in Vocational Education in South Caucasus

 

For the first time in the South Caucasus, the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) has launched a new English-language Master’s Program in Vocational Education and Human Resources Development and PhD Program in Vocational Education. The programs are focused on the training of researchers in the field of vocational education.

Professor Rusudan Sanadze, head of the Master’s Program in Vocational Education and Human Resources Development, spoke about the importance of the programs and noted the involvement of German colleagues in the preparation process. According to her, students will have the opportunity to practice in Germany after acquiring theoretical knowledge. The programs are supported by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Federal Ministry of Education. Prof. Sanadze noted that since the programs are in English, not only Georgian, but also foreign students will be able to study on them.

The event was attended by Lasha Saghinadze, head of the TSU administration, professors, students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of TSU, as well as German specialists.  

The programs were developed with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) – “Private Sector Development and Vocational Education and Training in the South Caucasus” - and the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg – “Vocational Education and Capacity Building in Georgia (VoCasian).”
