Presentation of Naira Bepiev’s Books

A presentation of Professor Naira Bepiev's books, History of Ossetian Literature and Ossetian Folklore, was held at Tbilisi State University (TSU) at the initiative of the TSU Georgian-Ossetian Relations Center.

TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia addressed the audience, speaking about the history of Georgian-Ossetian relations, their importance, and the tradition of studying the Ossetian language at the university.

“Despite many challenges and difficulties, Georgian-Ossetian relations have a long history and foundation. Georgians and Ossetians have always been close. I am proud that two very important works in this regard were authored by a professor from our university,” said Jaba Samushia.

The books are based on new scientific materials that have not been analyzed in the context of Ossetian literature before, and they will make a significant contribution to the study of Ossetian literature’s history and stages of development. For the first time, Georgian readers have the opportunity to learn about the lives and works of modern Ossetian writers. The books cover Ossetian literature from the beginnings to the present day and are intended for researchers, students and readers interested in the cultural heritage of the Caucasus.

Representatives from the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, the famous football player and university graduate Vladimir Gutsaev, university professors, students, administrative representatives, and invited guests attended the event.

The books were published as part of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia’s program.
