A new building is planned to be constructed adjacent to the 10th (Maglivi) Building of Tbilisi State University (TSU) to create an educational space for the Paata Gugushvili Institute of Economics and the Vocational Education Center of TSU. According to Kakhaber Cheishvili, Deputy Rector of TSU, the new building will provide the necessary conditions for research activities for the scientific staff of the Institute of Economics. To introduce new vocational programs, TSU will create the necessary infrastructure for education and practical training within the building.
Additionally, TSU Rector Jaba Samushia has initiated the creation of a sports and health space in the same building. This will enable TSU students, academic and administrative staff to maintain a healthy lifestyle, participate in sports activities and enjoy preferential rates for services. The sports infrastructure will undergo renovation, and new spaces for various sports will be built, including a 25-meter swimming pool.
The project and cost estimate documentation for the construction of the building was prepared through a competition, which was won by the company Tbilkalakproekti. Construction work will commence shortly.
