TSU at International Educational Conference NAFSA 2025

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University participated in one of the most prominent international events in the field of higher education - the annual conference of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA), which was held in San Diego, USA.

 

The conference brings together representatives of leading universities, research institutions and educational organizations from across the globe. The event aims to promote the internationalization of higher education, expand academic mobility and deepen strategic global partnerships.

 

Members of the TSU delegation - Tea Gergedava, the head of the Department of Foreign Relations, and Ekaterine Pirtskhalava, Senior Specialist of the Department and Associate Professor of TSU - participated in a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings with international partners as part of the conference. These meetings included representatives from the higher education sectors of France, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United States, Hong Kong, India, Argentina, the Czech Republic, Japan, Croatia, Oman, Portugal and Romania. The participants discussed both ongoing projects and new initiatives, including the preparation of Erasmus+ KA171 applications, the development of new areas of mobility, the creation of joint master’s programs and the signing of memorandums of understanding. The participants also discussed the deepening of existing partnerships, the establishment of new collaborations, and the strategic planning of future joint projects.

 

Meetings held within the framework of NAFSA 2025 will contribute significantly to the implementation of TSU’s strategic internationalization policy, expansion of its partnership network, and strengthening of its international recognition.
