Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is the leader in the competition for fundamental research state grants. Out of the 112 winning projects in the 2023 competition, the most - 36 projects (about 32% of the winning projects) belong to TSU scientists.
The Call for Fundamental Research State Grants aims at gaining new knowledge in various scientific fields and focuses on theoretical and experimental analysis of the theories, models, new ideas and concepts that should facilitate the socio-political, economic, public, cultural and technological progress of the country in the long-term perspective. The call supports the creation of a competitive research environment, promotes the development of excellent research in compliance with international standards and internationalization. The call aims at attracting young researchers and developing their scientific potential.
Projects may be submitted to the State Grant Competition for Fundamental Research in all fields of science: exact and natural sciences, engineering and technology, medical and health sciences, agrarian sciences, humanities, social sciences, Georgian studies.
