The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia, opened a medical center equipped with modern laboratories, technology necessary for medical research, and digital equipment. Operated by the TSU Faculty of Medicine, the center will help students develop their professional and practical skills.
Rector Jaba Samushia said that the TSU Medical Center will function as a training and practical space. “This facility will serve as the primary training ground for our students, equipping them with the essential skills required for future medical professionals. The modern equipment and simulation center here will be on par with the equipment of the world’s leading university clinics,” Jaba Samushia noted.
The TSU Medical Center will house an ultrasound research laboratory, spirometry and electrocardiography offices, and a dentistry office.
At the TSU Medical Center, patients will be seen by professors from the TSU Faculty of Medicine and doctors specializing in various fields, including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, surgery, pulmonology, and rheumatology.
The Medical Center will offer state-of-the-art simulation training to students in the TSU Faculty of Medicine. Students will actively participate in diagnostic studies and patient examinations.
The opening of the TSU Medical Center was attended by Kakhaber Cheishvili, Deputy Rector; Maia Bitskinashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; professors and students.
