A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between Tbilisi State University (TSU) and Petre Andrei University of Iași (Romania). A Romanian delegation led by Vice-Rector Sorin Bocancea visited TSU.
The meeting was attended by TSU Deputy Rectors Erekle Astakhishvili and Kakhaber Cheishvili.
At the meeting, TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, noted that he had visited Iași many times before, and that the fact that the Georgian poet Besiki (Besarion Gabashvili) is buried there is of particular importance.
The Rector emphasized the importance of international relations for TSU, including cooperation with leading universities in Europe, Asia and America, as well as internationally accredited programs and double degrees.
At the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for future cooperation in the fields of the social sciences and humanities.
The event was held with the support of the Embassy of Georgia in Romania.
