A conference of students and young scholars titled “Ancient and Medieval Georgia” was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The conference was dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion.
TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia opened the conference and spoke about the role of Christianity in the development of the Georgian state. He also emphasized the importance of the church in forming and maintaining a strong Georgia and the educational and cultural activities carried out in Georgian churches and monasteries.
The rector emphasized the diversity of topics covered in the theses presented at the conference and encouraged students to transform these materials into complete scientific articles.
The conference materials will be published in a collection to further enhance their scientific significance and make the students’ papers accessible to a broader audience.
