ACS 6th International Chemistry Symposium

Organized by the American Chemical Society (ACS) Georgian Student Chapter and ACS Georgia International Chapter at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia

The 6th International Chemistry Symposium was held on June 8, 2026, at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, bringing together students, researchers, and scientists for a day of scientific exchange and collaboration.

Opening remarks were delivered by Erekle Astakhishvili, Vice-Rector of Tbilisi State University, Prof. William Tong, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at San Diego State University, and Petre Babilua, Dean of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at Tbilisi State University.

The event featured participants from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgian Technical University, Tbilisi State Medical University, the Agricultural University of Georgia, and the Sukhumi Institute of Physics and Technology, reflecting strong cooperation among Georgian higher education and research institutions.

The symposium was also honored by the presence of distinguished international guests from the United States, including Prof. William Tong (San Diego State University), Prof. Ahmad Ezzeddine, Vice Provost for Global Affairs at the University of Washington and President of NAFSA and Ian Gibson, Dean of SDSU Global Campus.

The scientific program included lectures by invited professors, student oral presentations, and poster sessions covering a wide range of topics in chemistry. The event provided an excellent opportunity for participants to present their research, exchange ideas, and establish new academic connections.

The symposium concluded with closing remarks and awards were presented for the Best Oral Presentations (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) and the Best Poster Presentation in recognition of outstanding scientific achievement and presentation quality.
