Presentation of the Book “International Law: Text, Cases and Materials” at TSU

Routledge, a British multinational publisher, has published a book “International Law: Texts, Cases and Materials” by Davit Pataraia, Professor at the International Law Institute of the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU).

The presentation of the English-language textbook, which includes both basic concepts and fundamental principles of international law, as well as a detailed overview of each recognized field of international law, was held at TSU. The book also contains documentary materials - extracts from cases and materials, as well as illustrative images.

“The book has a specific and unique format, which has completely been developed by me. It offers students and readers comprehensive materials in the field of international law on a one-stop basis. To simplify the process of reading, the book has specific contents and a search section for the terms and documents,” Davit Pataraia noted.

Tamar Zarandia, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Tbilisi State University, said that the textbook was published in London and New York and has been included in international legal research since 2021. “It is very important that the reason for our meeting is the presentation of a very valuable work by one of the best representatives of our academic team, Professor Davit Pataraia. This is an original and well-structured work, which covers important issues of international law,” Tamar Zarandia noted.

The book “International Law: Text, Cases, and Materials”, among others, discusses contract law, law of international organizations, international human rights law, law of international responsibility, jurisdiction, diplomatic and international law, territory and international law, maritime law, international air and space law, international economic law, international environmental law and international humanitarian law.

The book will be interesting not only for the students of international law, but also for those people who wish to explore certain areas of international law through advanced courses before studying them.
