Jaba Samushia Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Tokyo Metropolitan University

Jaba Samushia, Rector of Tbilisi State University, held a working meeting with Hirotake Maeda, Professor of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tokyo Metropolitan University, to discuss the possibilities of cooperation with Tokyo Metropolitan University (Japan).
 

During the meeting the parties discussed the objectives of the signed memorandum. Rector Jaba Samushia noted that the memorandum is aimed at promoting academic cooperation between the universities. “According to the memorandum, Tbilisi State University and Tokyo Metropolitan University will implement exchange programs for both students and academic staff; the two universities will also actively cooperate in the field of scientific research. Both universities have this potential and desire,” said Rector Samushia.
 

Professor Hirotake Maeda focused on the issue of research cooperation between the universities. He said that under the memorandum, joint symposiums and international conferences will be held with the participation of students and academic staff. Professor Maeda also noted that scientific databases and materials will be shared to promote the development of scientific activities.
 

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Academician Jaba Samushia, Rector of TSU, and Professor Minagawa Masaki, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Graduate School of Humanities of Tokyo Metropolitan University.
