Fraunhofer ISI Representatives Visit TSU

Representatives from the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) (Germany, Karlsruhe) visited Tbilisi State University to learn about the Georgian scientific field and discuss potential collaborations. TSU Deputy Rector Erekle Astakhishvili met with the German guests. The Fraunhofer ISI delegation arrived at TSU as part of a grant from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Framework Funding Programme for Research and Innovation Cooperation with the Countries of the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia).

Led by Rainer Fritsch, Head of the Competence Center Innovation and Knowledge Economy, the Fraunhofer ISI delegation participated in a two-day symposium entitled “Fostering Sustainable Development Through Innovative Ecosystem Policy.” The symposium was organized by TSU’s Faculties of Economics and Business, as well as Law.

On March 17-20 of this year, as part of the Fraunhofer ISI project “Research and Networking to Establish Cooperation with Georgian Universities in the Field of Innovation,” a TSU delegation consisting of Irina Batiashvili, Moris Shalikashvili, and Merab Khokhobaia visited the Fraunhofer ISI.
