World-renowned economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs paid a working visit to Tbilisi State University’s Faculty of Economics and Business.
During his meeting with Associate Professor Merab Khokhobaia, the faculty dean, the two discussed ongoing processes in the global economy, modern economic challenges, and Georgia’s development prospects. They also discussed the importance of deepening academic cooperation, developing economic education, and sharing international experience.
Attending the meeting were Academician Avtandil Silagadze; Professors Giorgi Gaganidze, Elguja Mekvabishvili, Ioseb Khelashvili, and Teimuraz Beridze; Associate Professor Tamaz Zubiashvili; and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Manana Lobzhanidze.
The issue of providing the faculty with access to the SDG Academy’s educational resources was agreed at the meeting. This will give students and faculty access to international-level online courses, learning materials, and research resources in sustainable development.
