Awarding of Scientists

Honorary awards were given to Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University professors for their outstanding scientific and pedagogical work. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Acting Rector of Tbilisi State University, Jaba Samushia, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nunu Mitskevich, representatives of academic and scientific circles, as well as students attended the awards ceremony.
 

The honorary award of Tbilisi State University was given to: Lado Minashvili, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Humanities; Merab Gogberashvili, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences; Ioseb Salukvadze, Professor of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences; Tamar Atanelishvili, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business; Nugzar Surguladze, Professor of the Faculty of Law; Maia Mestvirishvili, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences; Zurab Chkhaidze, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine.
 

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli thanked the professors for their special contribution to the development of science and wished them success in their future activities. “Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is the main center of science in Georgia, where many generations of famous scientists were brought up, who made our country famous internationally. Even today, the role of Tbilisi State University in the development of science is invaluable,” Minister Chkhenkeli said.
 

Acting Rector of TSU, Jaba Samushia noted that the TSU academic personnel made a huge contribution to the development of science. “We awarded our professors for the fruitful scientific and pedagogical work that they have been doing at Tbilisi State University for years. Just due to the results achieved by the TSU scientists, Georgia takes a worthy place in the world science. I would like to thank our academic personnel for their invaluable work. I am sure that their scientific success will numerously present Georgia and Tbilisi State University in a good light in the international arena,” Jaba Samushia said.

 

The awards ceremony was held within the framework of the World Science Day celebrated annually since 2001 under the auspices of UNESCO.
