Assistance of TSU Students to Ukraine

The first shipment of humanitarian aid has been sent from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University to Ukraine with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine to Georgia.

The TSU Rector’s Office, Administration, Faculties, sport and creative teams have joined the initiative of TSU students to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainian people. During a week, interested persons were bringing consumer goods, medicines, clothes and food to the humanitarian center organized by TSU students.

Students of the TSU Faculty of Law also joined the campaign in support of Ukrainian people. With the assistance of representatives of the National Blood Bank, volunteers donated blood to save the people who sustained injuries during the hostilities in Ukraine. The blood donation campaign lasted for two days.

In addition, Tbilisi State University offers various types of assistance to Ukrainian citizens staying in Georgia. Ukrainian students, studying at TSU and staying in Georgia, will be offered free accommodation at the student dormitory; moreover, they will receive scholarships during the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year.

Those Ukrainian students, who arrived in Georgia on vacation and failed to return to their homeland due to the hostilities in Ukraine, will also receive assistance. They will also be offered free accommodation at the TSU dormitory. Ukrainian citizens staying in Georgia will be able to join TSU’s short-term certification courses free of charge.  

TSU also offers psychological assistance to all Ukrainian citizens that will be provided by highly qualified specialists.
