From September 17 to 18, 2025, the Child Rights Center of Tbilisi State University hosted an event coordinated by the New York Central Office of UNICEF. The “Green Rising Workshop” focused on preventing natural disasters and floods and promoting the well-being of children. The goal of the workshop was to discuss these issues with young people and develop an outline for future programs aimed at raising children's and the public's awareness of these issues. A new vision is planned that takes into account the opinions of the young people who participated in the meeting.
The workshop was facilitated by Istem Akalfi, a Volunteer Engagement and Strategy Consultant at the UNICEF New York Office, and Benjamin Simon, a Strategic Development Advisor. UNICEF Representative in Georgia Jesper Møller and TSU Child Rights Center Head Nino Shatberashvili opened the meeting.
