Tbilisi State University expresses its deep sorrow at the death of His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia.
Georgian society has lost a great leader who defined important stages of the country’s spiritual and national life for almost half a century. Ilia II was associated with the protection of public unity, peace, and traditional values.
