Elene Nino Maisuradze, a student at the Vocational Education Center of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, has become a finalist in the National Vocational Education Award competition.
The award ceremony was held at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace. During the event, the 2024 winners of the National Vocational Education Award were announced in four main competition
categories.
In addition, awards were presented in two special categories: the Parliament of Georgia granted a prize for the promotion of inclusive vocational education, while the Vocational Skills Agency recognized the “Best Practice in Cooperation with Employers and Businesses.”
The event was attended by Magda Magradze, Executive Director of the Millennium Foundation; Aleksandre Tsuladze, Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia; Nino Tsilosani, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia; Irine Margishvili, Director General of the Vocational Skills Agency; Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia; Zurab Kervalishvili, Executive Director of the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation; Hadas Meitzad, Ambassador of Israel to Georgia; as well as representatives of Georgia’s vocational education institutions and the diplomatic corps.
This year, nearly 80 applications were submitted in various categories for the National Vocational Education Award competition.
The National Vocational Education Award is an annual competition held since 2017. Its aim is to promote and support the development of vocational education as a key component in strengthening the country’s economy.
The award is organized by the Millennium Foundation, with the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation serving as the general sponsor. The competition is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia. Additional supporters include the Parliament of Georgia, the Vocational Skills Agency, the Embassy of Israel in Georgia, and the Business Association of Georgia.
