The demand for the vocational program "Freight Transport Logistics" is increasing every year. The program has been implemented at TSU Center of Vocational Education in Kutaisi for several years and continues to attract great interest. "Interest in this profession is growing rapidly, driven by Georgia’s role as a transport corridor in today’s world. That’s why we teach transport logistics not only theoretically but also give great emphasis on practical knowledge," said David Grdzelishvili, a teacher of the Freight Transport Logistics vocational program.
Warehouse management plays an equally significant role in freight transport logistics. To gain hands-on experience in this field, students of TSU Center of Vocational Education (Kutaisi) visited the TEGETA MOTORS branch in Kutaisi. They were introduced to all the procedures related to warehouse operations, including product reception, inventory accounting, and distribution.
According to the branch director, Vakhtang Natriashvili, students show a strong interest in acquiring practical knowledge: "We hosted students from TSU Center of Vocational Education and provided them with a detailed overview of the workflow - how warehouse management is conducted, how products are received, recorded in inventory, and distributed. Such visits are crucial to ensure alignment between their theoretical knowledge and practical experience."
Students recognize that gaining real-world experience is essential for successful employment.
"Practical experience is just as important as theoretical learning. We frequently undergo internships in various institutions and warehouses. This is crucial because it helps us develop a deeper understanding of the profession and enhances our employment prospects." Said Nana Maglakelidze, a student of the "Freight Transport Logistics" vocational program in Kutaisi.
