Students of TSU "Preschool Education" Vocational Program Participate in the Kindergarten Learning Process

"Such activities help vocational students in their professional development and interaction with children. Vocational students were introduced to the methodology on-site and directly participated in the process of working with children," said Ana Kalandadze, a teacher at Tbilisi 197th kindergarten, who hosted the vocational students of TSU "Preschool Education" program along with the children.

The implementation of the practical component is continuously carried out, taking into account the specifics of the module within the vocational program. As the program director, Kristine Chikhladze, noted, TSU Center of Vocational Education has signed several collaboration agreements with public and private sector preschool institutions, and a memorandum is also being prepared with the Tbilisi Kindergarten Management Agency. This creates ample opportunities for the development of students' professional skills.

According to Kristine Chikhladze, during the visit to the 197th kindergarten, students were introduced to the arrangement of the kindergarten, its structure, how lessons are conducted, and the resources developed for the teaching process. "It is very important to organize such field trips for vocational students because the program includes both theoretical and practical components. It is essential that the practical component is considered directly in the kindergarten environment. This way, students have the opportunity to observe the planning and implementation of activities, allowing them to assess and draw conclusions later," said the program director.

The visit to the 197th kindergarten was also interesting for the vocational students themselves. "We attended the actual learning process in the kindergarten, seeing how the day begins, how children arrive, how they are introduced to the schedule of the day, and how activities are planned. This process was explained to us by the teacher and the methodologist," noted Ani Gelkhauri, a student of the "Preschool Education" vocational program. She also pointed out that the theoretical knowledge gained during the learning process is deepened by vocational students in practice. Moreover, such experiences help them in their interactions with children and in enhancing motivation.
