ADAMI Talks 2020 – Online Discussion at TSU

An international online discussion ADAMI Talks 2020 co-organized by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University was held on December 10. Students and professors from the universities of Lithuania, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, as well as representatives of TV and films schools participated in the interactive symposium on a topic “Can we change the world? How can we influence it?” Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze, German Ambassador to Georgia Hubert Knirsch, Dutch Ambassador to Georgia Maaike van Koldam and Director of ADAMI Media Prize, Stefan Tolz welcomed the participants.

Media and film professionals, as well as public figures from European and Eastern Partnership countries shared their experience with future media professionals, young journalists and filmmakers and held a discussion. The participants discussed a broad range of issues, particularly whether the issues and problems of cultural diversity are covered in view of increasing nationalization and polarization.

ADAMI Talks is an innovative platform for audio-visual media professionals to discuss important issues of cultural diversity. It is the platform for sharing experience as well as unveiling new ideas and approaches.

The ADAMI Media Prize is a large platform for cultural diversity encouraging filmmakers, journalists and audio-visual media professionals in the EU Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) to communicate and share experience in integration, ethnic and religious minority issues. Film directors and journalists have an opportunity to submit their best works to the prestigious ADAMI Media Prize competition annually.

By the end of the discussion, the best audio-visual works related to ethnic, religious and cultural diversity in the region were identified. The prizes were awarded to the authors of the works created in six categories (entertaining programs/feature films, documentaries, news/short non-feature films, student works, websites and videos).
