On February 24 and 25, the first working meeting of the project “Development of Early Childhood Educational Programs in Georgian Universities (DECEP)” funded by the ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE program was held at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of TSU. The meeting was attended by representatives of the partner universities and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. The meeting discussed the needs of Georgian universities in the field of early education and the challenges in the implementation of the educational policy, the stages and means of the project implementation. Future events and meetings were planned.
The project aims to develop and implement undergraduate and certificate programs in early childhood education. The objectives of the project are to create modern educational materials and diverse open access digital resources and a university network within the educational program, to retrain academic and administrative staff, and to raise awareness about early childhood education.
The project coordinator is Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. The project is being implemented with the support and participation of the following partner universities: Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, University of Tartu (Estonia), and Vilnius University (Lithuania).
