A two-day international conference “American Democracy: Achievements and Challenges,” dedicated to the 250th anniversary of American independence, has opened at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU).
TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, emphasized the successful cooperation between the U.S. Embassy in Georgia and TSU.
“Independent Georgia is indebted to the United States for its continued support since the 1990s. The U.S. Department of State and the Embassy support ongoing projects between TSU and San Diego State University, as well as the University of Texas at Dallas. Our cooperation with Harvard University grows stronger every year, which is invaluable for our students, and the U.S. Embassy has made a significant contribution to its implementation.”
The event was attended by Professor Darejan Tvaltvadze, the dean of the Faculty of Humanities at TSU; representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia; students and professors.
