ISET Graduation Ceremony

170 students graduated from the bachelor’s and master’s programs of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University’s International School of Economics (ISET) in 2022. Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze, Director of ISET and ISET Policy Institute, Tamar Sulukhia, President of the National Bank of Georgia, Koba Gvenetadze, students and invited guests attended the ceremony of awarding diplomas to ISET graduates.

Rector George Sharvashidze congratulated ISET graduates on receiving their diplomas and wished them success. “I am sure that everyone will be successful and will join those ISET graduates who are already working on developing Georgia’s economy or are studying abroad on international programs. The ISET programs are internationally recognized and in high demand. These programs received FIBAA accreditation last year,” George Sharvashidze said.

“This year, more than 170 bachelors and masters left the walls of ISET and joined the strong team of economic analysts who graduated from ISET over the past 16 years and who are so needed today by the country, the region and generally the professional community around the world,” Tamar Sulukhia noted.

This year’s graduation ceremony is special because, along with the graduates of the master’s program, diplomas will also be awarded to the first graduates of ISET’s BA Program in Economics. After a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, the first- and second-generation graduates of bachelor’s program participated in the event together.

“ISET provided us with a lot of opportunities to develop knowledge of economics, finance, and business. We gained a lot of experience both through internships and competitions. Many students are already employed. I personally work at Galt & Taggart, in the research department and I am glad that today we are celebrating all this and starting a new stage in our life,” ISET graduate Giga Nozadze noted.

Over the past 16 years, ISET has achieved tremendous success. The school has already educated several generations of economists. 98% of ISET graduates are employed in their occupations. ISETs BA and MA programs in economics are the only ones in the country that have received international accreditation in the field of economics. The career successes achieved by 500 graduates of the school in science, public or private sectors connected research with politics, and provided the Georgian society with information and knowledge about economics.
