On October 20, representatives from Tbilisi State University conducted fun chemical experiments and gave a fun lecture for pupils from Zodi and Tsirkvali schools in the Chiatura municipality. Participants who performed well in the competition were awarded commemorative gifts.
The goal of the event and the main innovative aspect of the project is to introduce schoolchildren to chemistry as an important STEM science by having them observe entertaining laboratory experiments. These experiments should spark pupils’ interest in chemistry. By becoming familiar with the specifics of laboratory work, schoolchildren will develop and expand theoretical knowledge and experimental skills. They will learn to use modern measuring instruments, integrate their knowledge and apply it to fields related to chemistry. This will help them overcome the school program and encourage them to pursue a career in chemistry or chemical technology. The project is implemented within the framework of the Rustaveli National Science Foundation's Science Popularization Grant SPG-25-652.
