TSU students will participate in an archaeological study of a medieval palace that was discovered within the historic Rustavi Fortress.
Acad. Jaba Samushia, the Rector of Tbilisi State University, participated in the event to present the large-scale archaeological expedition project. He discussed the historical significance of the Rustavi Fortress and the importance of the expedition.
“This project provides a unique opportunity for our archaeologists, scientists, and students to study the medieval monument with numerous potential layers,” noted Jaba Samushia.
Within the framework of the project, Tbilisi State University and Rustavi City Hall signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement aims to involve TSU’s BA students in the Rustavi Archaeological Expedition’s archaeological research and exploration work, thereby developing their practical skills.
The expedition is organized by the Rustavi City Hall and the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.
