Erekle Astakhishvili, the deputy rector of Tbilisi State University, and Lali Mekerishvili, a doctoral student specializing in the history of Georgia at the university’s Faculty of Humanities, participated in the 6th Annual International Conference of the Council of Europe’s Observatory on History Teaching in Europe (OHTE), held in Strasbourg.
The conference addressed the issues of historical distortion and manipulation, and brought together researchers, history teachers, education experts, and members of international organizations from various countries.
Along with their colleagues, the TSU representatives discussed how objective history education can contribute to combating disinformation and strengthening democratic societies.
