The Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Center continues to actively promote unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at Tbilisi State University.
This time, we are offering FPV Drone Piloting Courses for students. The course will include the following modules:
Theoretical Part:
- Principles of drone operation – Types of drones and their main components;
- Basics of aviation – Flight dynamics, aerodynamics, center of gravity, and balance;
- Battery and energy management – Battery usage and safety;
- Drone assembly components – How to build an FPV drone;
- Frequencies and signals;
- Safety and regulations – Flight rules, zones, and where it is allowed or prohibited to fly a drone;
- Pilot responsibility – Ethics and safety protocols.
Practical Part:
- Simulator training – Initial flight skills development using a drone simulator;
- FPV drone piloting in real environments – Learning various maneuvers such as takeoff, flips, etc.;
- Programming and tuning;
- Drone repair and technical support – Replacing damaged components and diagnosing flight issues;
- Aerial filming and data analysis.
Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
- Operate FPV drones independently;
- Use FPV systems for inspection or aerial filming;
- Diagnose, repair, and program their drones;
- Participate in competitions and projects.
Registration period: July 7 – July 10
The course starts on July 14 and will last for one month.
The exact schedule will be tailored to the students' availability.
The FPV Drone Piloting Course is free for TSU students.
