In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili, Tbilisi State University Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia welcomed schoolchildren from Khovle Public School in the Kaspi municipality.
During the meeting, Rector Samushia spoke to the audience about Ivane Javakhishvili’s life and work. He also introduced the anniversary events and future projects aimed at popularizing the legacy of the great Georgian scientist.
“The great scientist, Ivane Javakhishvili, was from your village, and he created many of his important works in Khovle. His house-museum is located there and should become a cultural monument where many people can learn about the life and work of this great Georgian scientist. The project currently underway, which includes the complete rehabilitation of the museum, serves precisely this purpose. Ivane Javakhishvili dedicated his entire life to our homeland and to science,” said Jaba Samushia.
The meeting was attended by schoolchildren, teachers, and employees of the Khovle House Museum.
As part of the event, the schoolchildren viewed an exhibition dedicated to Ivane Javakhishvili’s 150th anniversary and gave presentations about his life.
