An international scientific conference dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili’s birth and the 85th anniversary of the establishment of Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology has opened at Tbilisi State University (TSU).
TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, addressed the audience, discussing the importance of the Institute of History and its activities.
“This institution has played a significant role in the study of Georgian history and the essays on Georgian history, which were published 50 years ago, are especially noteworthy,” said Jaba Samushia.
Conference topics include issues related to Ivane Javakhishvili's scientific and public activities.
19 speakers from various educational and research institutions are participating in the conference.
The conference will last until April 29 with sessions held in TSU Building 1 and the Institute of History and Ethnology.
