New Academic Year at Kutaisi Branch of TSU Vocational Education Center

 

The new academic year has begun at the Kutaisi branch of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University’s Vocational Education Center. TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia; Givi Mikanadze, Minister of Education, Science and Youth; Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Minister; and TSU Deputy Rector Kakhaber Cheishvili congratulated the students on the start of their studies.

“Our vocational education programs at Tbilisi State University are tailored to meet the demands of the modern labor market. We teach students the professions that the country needs today. The TSU Vocational Education Center has the resources and potential to accept even more students. We are ready to offer young people an environment where they will receive practical knowledge and real employment opportunities,” noted Rector Samushia.

On the first day of the classes, Education Minister Givi Mikanadze inspected the TSU Vocational Education Center’s infrastructure. Notably, the Ministry will allocate more than GEL 1.3 million for rehabilitation work on the center's building this year, significantly improving the learning environment and student services.

This year, approximately 500 students began studying in 18 TSU vocational education programs in Tbilisi and Kutaisi. Of those students, 260 will study in Kutaisi. The following programs were offered at the TSU Vocational Education Center in Tbilisi and Kutaisi in 2025: Accounting, Preschool Education, Customs Administration, Financial Services, Library Science, Nursing Education, Front-End Development, Freight Transport Logistics, Warehouse Operations, and Event Management.

Demand for TSU's vocational education programs grows every year. More than 2,000 applicants registered to apply for the 2025 intake. TSU has offered vocational education programs since 2007. All of TSU’s vocational education programs are 100% state-funded.
