Reporting to the Senior QA Specialist, the QA Specialist is responsible for testing Impel’s automotive merchandising products, specifically focusing on the Imaging Products. They look for ways to improve Impel’s imaging products and advance our hardware support. They help identify bugs or inconsistencies in the workflow within our Imaging products. They working directly with the QA Team, Product Owners, and Engineers, the QA Specialist will obtain a vast understanding of Impel’s Imaging products while helping improve product quality, hardware support, and technological advances.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

● Develop an understanding of the various Impel merchandising products, the way these products intertwine, and gather knowledge of how to advance and grow these platforms.

● Work within a test environment, dev console, and internal platforms to test and maintain support of various Impel merchandising products.

● Work to collect and interpret feedback from customers, support, and internal testing.

● Work with an in-house beta testing program of our Capture application to maintain support of various iOS and Android devices, as well as support advancements and improvements to our mobile application.

● Constantly monitor for software updates for Android, iOS operating systems and advancements in hardware. Help to determine whether these updates will interfere with the current app versions, and record what updates or changes are needed to maintain a seamless user experience.

● Establish a testing feedback loop with other developers and team members and track relevant metrics.

● Work with Product Owners to translate user stories into working test plans and test cases. Create sets of functional tests based on product requirements and the planned configurations necessary for adequate testing.

● Design, develop, and maintain test cases for each product and release, and perform regression tests against these cases.

● Describe and document the found errors and steps for reproducing them, and work with the Delivery Manager to escalate bugs and identify the level of severity.

● Attend product development meetings to help identify potential quality issues and make recommendations. When necessary, call out risks and quality concerns to the product and work with them to conceptualize and support improvement implementation.

● Work with Product Operations and theDelivery Manager to define launch schedules and releases, including piloting and test strategy as part of the pre-release activities.

● Identify pre-launch QA process improvements to help improve dealer and car buyer satisfaction, reduce the number of tickets to Support to correct improper integrations, and make Impel site activation more streamlined.

● Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

● Work with engineering to develop monitoring best practices to know when one of our products isn’t functioning as intended. Identifies gaps in our current monitoring process.

 

Requirements:

● Ability to work independently and as a productive part of a team.

● Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively communicate both in the written and verbal forms of the English Language

● Proficient knowledge of business communication platforms, preferably Zoom and Slack

● Working knowledge base of Atlassian products - Confluence and Jira.
